The ACH Prenotification report allows you to view the PreNote Verification Report and create the ACH text file that you can send to your financial institution for the purpose of prenotification.
This Help page contains the following sections:
Prenoting is mandatory only if your bank requires a zero balance transaction be sent through the system at least six days before money is deposited to the account. This process, called prenotification and known as prenoting, allows Payroll to check that the transit number and account number are accurate. It also allows the bank to verify that it can receive the credit without any problems.
If a prenoted employee changes banks or accounts you must prenote the employee again. It is recommended that you inform each employee that there is a federally mandated delay period and to expect a short delay before their pay goes directly to their bank.
Select to create ACH Prenotification for either All Employees or Only Employees whose information has changed. The second option is only available when there are employees whose records have changed since the last time ACH Prenotification was run. Click the Run Report button to display a preview of your ACH PreNote Verification report.
The ACH PreNote Verification Report displays the employer ACH information as well as the employee ACH information. Each employee is displayed on a line with columns for Acct. Type, Bank Routing #, Bank Account #, Deposit Amount, Name ID, Name, Tracer #, and Emailed Voucher. Amounts on this report are zero.
Once the preview displays you can navigate the pages, export to several formats (e.g., PDF, Excel, Word), and Print. You may also click the Clear Preferences link to reset all of your report preferences to their initial values.
To generate the ACH file to send to your financial institute for the purpose of prenotification click the Create ACH Text File button. You are prompted to download the ACHFile.txt file.
When finished click the Cancel link to return to the main Payroll page or click Report Preferences on the blue bar above the report preview to return to Report Preferences.
