1. Navigate to your manager dashboard, click on Organization (top banner) and choose Fund Management from the dropdown menu.
2. Click Add Fund in the top banner.
3. In the new window, add the Fund Name, and complete any other fields that are applicable.*
a. Fund Status: Indicates if the Fund is Active or Inactive.
b. Parent Fund: The Parent-Sub Fund function allows similar funds to be grouped together, keeping the donor drop-down list simplified.
c. Fund Name: This is the fund description that displays when donors give online (e.g., Budget Giving 2017).
d. Fund Keyword: Used for text fund designations.
e. Fund Code: (Optional – Non Arena or ShelbyNext Membership Clients only) The Fund Code is primarily used if you are exporting ShelbyNext | Giving to a file and then importing the information into v.5. or a third party database to accurately sync the fund record from our giving portal to the third party database via the Data Export function. Some examples of databases that use funds codes are ACS and PowerChurch.
NOTE: If you are not using a database that generates a Fund Code when adding a fund or giving category, then you will not need to input anything into the Fund Code field when creating or editing a fund.
f. Start Date: (Optional) The Fund Status is automatically set to Inactive if the Start Date has not yet occurred. When the Start Date occurs, the status is automatically set to Active.
g. End Date: The Fund Status is automatically set to Inactive once the End Date has occurred. (Change the sort order on the Fund Management page by clicking the column heading.)
