Inspire Generosity in Easter Guests

Shelby-Easter-Toolkit

Several visitors and attendees who do not regularly attend services will be present virtually or in person during the Easter season. And with the increase in attendance, there is potential to inspire generosity. Our team has put together this amazing Easter toolkit to help your church communicate opportunities that they can take advantage of during your Easter service.

Background Checks and Beyond

How are you protecting the children in your ministry?

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month. Did you know that in 90% of child abuse cases the abuser was someone the child knew and trusted and that 1 out of 417 persons in the U.S. is on the sex offender registry?

Here are some simple steps you can take in your ministry to protect children:

  1. Perform background checks on all staff and volunteers.
-You can quickly initiate, order, and view background checks from within your Shelby ChMS with Protect My Ministry. Did you see our two enhancements to Background Checks in February?
  2. Provide Child Abuse Prevention Training for your staff and volunteers.
-Our partners at Protect My Ministry have an online training course.
  3. Have a Code of Conduct for staff and volunteers that outlines expectations for interacting with minors, such as policies on being alone with a child and other safety procedures.
  4. Make sure your team understands state and national requirements for reporting abuse.
  5. Connect with local organizations that provide support and services for child abuse victims and prevention resources.
